7 Steps To Join an Affiliate Program and How YOU can be a Website BuilderStep1. Select
(or decide on) a product (or "niche") - something you know something
about is better - but not mandatory. Of course if want to start out as
an affiliate (like me), read the articles at left under affiliate
program articles to get some background about affiliate programs.Step 2. Buy
- yes buy - a good website builder package that will teach you how to
build and upload your website. You can try to find, and get free
website builders, some are available with your hosting provider, but
with most of them you get few useful features, very little control,
very few choices about how your website is being built and you have no
idea how to make changes yourself if and when you need to quickly and
easily - and you never really know what's going on!! I currently use
Microsoft Frontpage as my website builder - HTML editor - you may have
it in your microsoft suite on your PC now - if not - then get it. Frontpage
also uploads your website to your host and therefore to the internet
(most host providers have frontpage extensions as standard now days) .
YOU have control of what you do, when you do it and how you do it, and
you don't need to use or be concerned with FTP. With frontpage it does
it all for you - easily. This website builder instruction manual -
based on front page - will tell you all you need to know - and a bit
more. Click on this link How to build a website and select build sites
from the left menu. There are also many other informational videos you
can get there. Step 3. Register a domain name - (website
name). Preferably one that reflects what you are promoting using
keywords to help search engines find your website. E.G. This website is
about Affiliate Programs and Website Builder and the website (domain)
name is aptly (keyword) called Affiliate Program-Website Builder.com Step 4. Find
and join a hosting site so you can get your website on the internet.
Preferably get a paid one not a free one - why - it looks more
professional - because you can tell if you have a free site by the URL
address - its long and cumbersome with your name at the end - very
obvious. Free hosting also has very few additions like maybe only one
domain registration, no sub domains, no autoresponders, not frontpage
ready, etc. Just type in web hosting in a search engine and off you go. Step 5. Get
some content - free articles, sellable information articles or products
or affiliate links. Why - to make your website informative and maybe
have visitors come back or recommend your website to others. Step 6. Find
and join an Affiliate Program and of course put the links into your
website. Read the affiliate program articles on the left for info on
this. Step 7. Sign up with Google Adsense to help you along - not a necessity but a good idea. You're done! Now
you don't have to necessarily proceed strictly in that order but its
close. IF you get hosting first but don't have a website or content
then you are wasting your monthly hosting fees until you have your site
up so don't do that first - make sense? Sound easy? - well its not
as simple as that if you've never done anything like this before. I had
problems at the start - and still have not mastered it!Preparing your
content, your articles, your links is the time consumer, but you can do
it.
